Manage Continuous Electric Service for Your Properties

Austin Energy’s Multifamily Partnership Program (MPP) provides several resources and tips to help you manage electric service at your multifamily properties.

Log in to the Online Property Status Report

Log in to Online Customer Care for secure access to your Multifamily Property Status Report.

The report provides you with an overview of your properties, including:

  • Service Address
  • Unit Number
  • Ability to verify that a resident has transferred service into or out of his or her name and the requested date
  • Requests that remain pending
  • Meter Number
  • Filter to easily identify the units that are currently billing in either the landlord’s name or the tenant’s name

You will be able to print your report or export it to a spreadsheet. You will also receive email notifications when your property status changes.

Keep Past Due Services in the Proper Name

Sometimes residents vacate the property without notifying the property owner.

If this happens to you, you can easily ensure uninterrupted power in the abandoned rental unit. Simply:

  • Notify Austin Energy within three business days
  • Request a transfer of the account into the owner’s name

Please do not wait until services are disconnected for non-payment. Any delinquent amount owed is maintained in the name of the former resident.

If a resident requests services to be removed from his or her name and the resident or roommate(s) continues to reside at the premises, the owner can request services be disconnected.

Property owners can locate customer requests to disconnect service through the secure Online Multifamily Program Report.

Reestablish Service After Disconnection

If the previous resident had services disconnected for non-payment, the property owner should call the Customer Care Service Center at 512-494-9400 and request the account be transferred into the complex’s name.

Services will be reconnected within one business day. Any delinquent amount owed is maintained in the name of the former resident.

Enroll in the Multifamily Partnership Program

Print and complete the Service Agreement and Enrollment forms, and mail, fax, or email them to us.

Cancel Your Enrollment

If you should decide to cancel your MPP enrollment, simply print and complete the MPP Cancellation Form (pdf), and mail, fax, or email it to us.

Sale of Multifamily Property

If a participating property is sold, the current Multifamily Partnership Program participant must submit a MPP Cancellation Form (pdf) to Austin Energy.

If the new owner would like to participate in the program, they must submit the enrollment and service agreement forms under their own name.
