Tree Growth Regulator
A Free Service to Manage Tree Growth Near Power Lines
Tree Growth Regulator
Austin Energy is working with local contractors to help manage tree growth near power lines in your neighborhood. Trees that grow too close to power lines can cause power outages, especially during storms.
To help prevent tree-related power outages, contractors will apply a safe and effective Tree Growth Regulator (TGR) to selected trees. This treatment helps slow tree growth and makes trees healthier and more resilient—all at no cost to you.How the Treatment Works
- The TGR is applied by injecting it into the soil around the base of the tree.
- The treatment helps trees grow more slowly, while improving their health, strength and appearance.
