Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

Austin Energy is seeking proposals from companies qualified and experienced in the development and operation of energy resources utilizing stored power. In this solicitation, AUSTIN ENERGY will consider the long-term purchase of capacity and associated service products from Energy Storage Resources that are in the Austin Energy service territory. This solicitation is open to all storage technologies. The planned schedule is as follows:

Issue RFP: February 3, 2025
Deadline for email questions will be 5:00 p.m. CST, February 24, 2025
RFP responses are due by 5:00 p.m. CST, March 24, 2025

Austin Energy will review all proposals and determine a short list of proposals to consider for further evaluation. Short-listed Proposers may be contacted to provide additional information and documentation regarding their proposal.

Proposers must submit their Proposal(s) on or before the deadline by email to EnergySupply@austinenergy.com. Proposal format and requirements are described in the RFP. In addition, please note that by submitting a proposal, Proposers agree they have read and will abide by the City of Austin’s Non-Collusion, Non-Conflict of Interest, and Anti-Lobbying requirements found in Attachment 1.

During the RFP process, any and all questions regarding the RFP must be submitted to EnergySupply@austinenergy.com. Please note that any questions submitted after 5:00 p.m. CST on February 24, 2025 may not be reviewed or answered.

Austin Energy will prepare written responses and distribute a question and answer (Q&A) log to all intended Bidders.
