    All open records requests to Austin Energy or any other City of Austin department can be filed online with the City of Austin Communications and Public Information Office.

    Austin Energy’s Infrastructure Asset Management team works with businesses that need access to infrastructure assets owned by Austin Energy and the City of Austin.

    We actively research, monitor, track, and inventory existing Austin Energy and City of Austin infrastructure assets and underutilized land throughout Austin and Travis County. We then lease these assets to appropriate businesses and governmental organizations.

    Austin Energy's Electric Service Delivery (ESD) team safely delivers reliable electric service to Austin Energy's customers. They plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain the City's Transmission and Distribution system. 

    ESD creates and compiles Distribution Design guidelines, manuals, work aides, and standards references to help maintain high reliability and standards within our service area.

  • Public Involvement & Real Estate Services (PIRES)

    PIRES has real property, planner, and survey staff who provide support and assistance to Austin Energy and its customers in the fields of electric distribution, transmission, substation design and construction, and other transmission and generation-related services provided by the utility.

    The group handles the acquisition of distribution easements necessary for the provision of electric service, acquisition of transmission easements, and fee purchases of land for Austin Energy capital improvement projects. In addition the group facilitates and processes Board of Adjustment Cases, Easement Releases, License Agreements, Right of Way Vacations, and Site Plan/Subdivision reviews as they relate to Austin Energy electric facilities.

    The Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure (ECAD) ordinance requires energy audits and disclosures for all homes and buildings that are served by Austin Energy and located within Austin city limits.

    ECAD promotes energy efficiency by identifying potential energy savings in homes, businesses, and multifamily properties.
