Overall, Austin Energy's district cooling facilities serve more than 20 million square feet (>7x the Empire State Building) and will soon have 64,000 tons of cooling capacity.

The Downtown Plants feature the largest ice thermal storage system in Central Texas.
North/Central Domain District Cooling
The Domain District Cooling System is located in northwest Austin, along North MoPac (Loop 1) between Braker Lane and Burnet Road.
It serves a mix of retail, office, medical, high tech, and computer gaming facilities, and provides continuous cooling services to The Domain's tenants, such as:
- Domain 3 Office Building
- Domain 4 Office Building
- Domain 5 Office Building
- Domain 7 Office Buildings (Trend Micro)
- IBM
- OneWest Bank
- Simon Mall
- Streetlights Apartments
- Domain Parkside Apartments (3 complexes)
- The Westin Hotel
The Domain plant has a 24,000 ton-hour thermal energy storage tank to shift load during peak energy usage.
Mueller Redevelopment Cooling, Heat, and Power (CHP) Plant
This innovative energy center is on land redeveloped from Austin's decommissioned Robert Mueller Municipal Airport and is among the most environmentally-friendly energy systems in the world.
It provides chilled water cooling, steam, and on-site electric production to Seton's Dell Children's Medical Center.
