Jackie Sargent Named 2022 “ETS Thought Leader of the Year”

General Manager of Austin Energy to be Recognized at ETS22

Zpryme, a research-based firm focused on energy and technology, announced today that Jackie Sargent, General Manager of Austin Energy, has been selected as the 2022 “ETS Thought Leader of the Year.”

The “ETS Thought Leader of the Year” award salutes an individual among the Energy Thought Summit (ETS) community of thought leaders who possess the type of inventive and brave vision needed to inspire the global energy ecosystem toward sustainable modernization.

“With her over 30 years of energy experience, Jackie knows how to drive real change, and she knows how to get customers excited and engaged,” stated Jason Rodriguez, Zpryme Co-Founder and CEO. “Jackie is driving innovation inside and outside of Austin Energy, by focusing on five core values; safety, financial integrity, operational excellence and reliability, exceptional customer service and engaged employees.”

A group of peers, including ETS alumni and committee members, voted and selected Sargent for the award.

Jackie Sargent oversees Austin Energy’s exceptional reliability and advancements in grid technology. Because of her work, the utility has been able and will continue to offer new levels of communication and collaboration with its customers.

Sargent is a licensed professional engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Technology Management from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Previously, Sargent served as Senior Vice President of Power Supply and Market Operations at Austin Energy before joining Platte River Power Authority in Fort Collins, Colorado, as General Manager and CEO. Sargent also served as Vice President of Power Supply and Renewables Integration for Black Hills Corporation in South Dakota.
