Change Your Outage Alert Preferences
Add Contacts and Set Up "Do Not Disturb"
If you are registered to receive Outage Alerts, you can add multiple contacts and set a Do Not Disturb block on text updates.
Set Up Additional Contacts — You can add or remove as many contacts as you like to receive Outage
Alerts and updates.
Additional contacts might include:
- Family members
- Babysitter or child care professionals
- Out-of-town guests
- Medical caregivers
- Set Up Do Not Disturb — You can choose to not receive outage status texts during hours you designate. If you use the Do Not Disturb feature, you will only receive a text when power is restored.
You can change your Outage Alert preferences in one of two ways:
- Log in to City of Austin Utilities Online Customer Care and change your preferences under Notifications.
- Call 512-494-9400 to speak to a representative.
Don’t Have an Online Customer Care Account Yet?
If you aren’t already a registered City of Austin Utilities user, you will first need to register your username and set up your online account.
Once you have set up your online account, you can pay bills, manage your utilities, and set your Outage Alerts preferences.
