Grid Connections Webinar

Looking at the City of Austin’s net zero carbon goals, there is an opportunity for buildings to better integrate and communicate with the electric grid. From storage to demand response and smart inverters, this seminar will provide an overview of the current research and opportunities for grid friendly building practices. Speakers will cover lessons learned from Austin Energy’s SHINE’s grant work and explore the GridOptimal Buildings Initiative that will develop metrics by which building features and operating characteristics that support more effective grid operation can be measured and quantified.

Regional Resiliency

Texas communities are looking at comprehensive and holistic resiliency plans to lessen impacts and reduce recovery time from shocks and stressors. This seminar will identify major risks and review plans towards preparedness. Speakers will discuss planning efforts for resilient frameworks, networks, hubs and research.

Learn and Earn Continuing Education Units

Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) hosts learning opportunities for the public and building industry professionals. Our monthly seminars are registered with AIA and GBCI for continuing education credits.

We also offer AICP learning units on selected seminars. Other events like Green by Design and the annual Cool House Tour are also eligible for continuing education credit.
