The City of Austin is hosting its annual Community Connections Resource Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 15 at Eastside Early College High School.

This premier community resource fair is a free, family-friendly event that connects over 100 City of Austin, non-profit and local service providers with hundreds of community members in one fun-filled day.

The Community Connections Resource Fair will provide:

  • a drive-thru food bank,
  • access to health services and vaccinations,
  • an Austin Police Department helicopter to explore,
  • an Austin Fire Department fire engine to tour,
  • product giveaways and useful information from Austin Resource Recovery, Austin Water and other city and county agencies, and
  • an on-site electric lawn equipment exchange where eligible customers can trade in their gas-powered weed eaters and leaf blowers for free electric equipment.

Attendees can also discover city resources designed to help lower their utility bills through the City of Austin’s Customer Assistance Program.

“The Community Connections Resource Fair highlights the wide range of City services and local support available throughout Austin,” said Austin City Manager T.C. Broadnax. “With winter approaching, we encourage residents to explore opportunities to reduce utility costs and connect with programs designed to enhance their everyday lives.”

The event is free and open to the public. Residents can access free Cap Metro bus passes for the day of the event in person at City of Austin Utility Customer Service Centers or online at AustinEnergy.com/CommunityConnections.
