Aggregators

Aggregators help businesses run more efficiently and improve the reliability of Austin Energy’s electrical grid.

Austin Energy works with energy management service companies and self aggregators to help automate businesses, increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and save on utility costs.

An energy management system can monitor and control:

• Cooling and heating equipment
• Compressors
• Refrigeration equipment
• Lighting

Financial Incentives
Incentives are offered to energy management companies or self aggregators who run more efficiently and reduce energy comsumption in return for allowing Austin Energy to request energy reductions/curtailment events.

Power Saver™ Program Aggregators curtailment events may occur on weekdays between June 1st and September 30th, between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Curtailment events:

• Curtail a minimum of 10kW per facility site or at least 15% of summer peak load, whichever is greater
• Include at least three aggregated facilities or minimum 30kW for self aggregates
• Include at least four curtailments, up to an anticipated 15 curtailments per year
