Multi-Family Green Building Program Rating

Austin Energy’s Multi-Family Green Building Program rates multi-family buildings three stories or shorter in Austin Energy's service area.

How to Start
Become familiar with our Multi-Family Green Building Program Rating (xls). More detailed information can be found in our Guide to the Multifamily Program Rating (pdf).

Then contact Austin Energy Green Building™ as early as possible in your design process to schedule a goal-setting meeting.

Upon substantial completion of your construction documents, we perform a thorough review to confirm the development is on track for achieving rating goals. A successful review earns your project a Conditional Approval, which you should include in your building-permit application.

If zoning or code requires you to achieve a Rating, we will sign a Letter of Intent to include with your site-development-permit application.

During Construction
As construction proceeds, we require that you update your development’s rating at project milestones. We also require you provide us with regular feedback, such as project updates and progress toward green building goals.

To learn more and schedule a meeting, contact Austin Energy Green Building.
