Leaking Air Ducts
Many Austin homes lose a third of conditioned—heated or cooled—air through leaking ductwork. Leaking ducts can pull dust and other pollutants into your air system.

Duct Diagnostic Testing
For just $50 per central air conditioning system, an Austin Energy contracted company will check your air conditioner and test your ducts for:

	Significant leaks
	Room-by-room air flow, cooling, and heating
	Carbon monoxide
	Sufficient flow through return air vents
	Penetration of unconditioned air

Duct System Improvements
If the Austin Energy contracted company recommends duct improvements, you can:

	Request a quote from that company to perform recommended repairs
	Request a quote from any Austin Energy participating contractor to perform repairs
	Choose not to perform repairs or to perform them at another time

When you hire an Austin Energy participating contractor to perform recommended duct improvements, you are eligible for rebates through our Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program.
