Austin Energy
Regional Science Festival
The Austin Energy Regional Science Festival is one of the largest science fairs in Texas.
We expect more than 2,000 first grade through high school students to compete in Science Festival 2008.
To participate, students have submitted winning projects in their school science fair. Winning Junior and Senior Division students advance to the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering
Fair. Best of Fair Senior Division students advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
Science Festival Sponsorship
Austin Energy provides ribbons and certificates for all elementary
school participants. Senior division awards include trophies
for first through fifth place in 15 categories. Junior division
awards include trophies for first through third place and ribbons
for fourth and fifth place.
The top three winners in each junior
and senior category advance to the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering
Fair. The five “Best of Fair” winners compete
at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
Austin Energy, Science Festival's major sponsor,
awards three $1,000 college scholarships to selected graduating
senior first-place winners. We also award $1,000 to the Sweepstakes
winning school in the Junior and Senior Divisions for collecting
the most project awards.
